Question and Answers

Q:

heat element 11063042100 Kenmore Electric dryer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your dryer is not working properly. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found instructions that will assist you in testing the heating element.  If the dryer is not heating you could be experiencing an issue with the thermal fuse (3392519), operating thermostat (3387134), high limit thermostat or the thermal cut-off (kit 279769). If you have an ohms/volt meter you can test these parts for the proper continuity. To test the parts, disconnect both wires from the components and test them at room temperature. The ohms reading for these components should be zero ohms. If the high limit thermostat is faulty, then replace the thermal cut-off as well and vice versa. They two components work together and come as a kit. If they component listed above test good, then the issue may be with the heating element (3387747) and I recommend testing it as well. You'll want to get a reading of 7.8 - 11.8 ohms for it to test good.

Let me know if this helps./

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

Q:

How to install circuit board

A:

I understand needing to have further information regarding this replacement for your dryer. I am happy to help. I recommend that you unplug the dryer first before accessing the internal components. You should be able to open that console by sliding a putty knife under the end cap on each side to release the clips (see first image below). You can then pull that console slightly forward to release the back clip. You should then be able to hinge that console up and back over the top of the back panel or lay it forward to access the control board. The second image below offers the further instructions you will need. I hope this provides helpful but if you need further assistance, please reply back to this thread.

If you do not feel comfortable doing this, I highly recommend scheduling for service. You can do so via this link: Sears Home Services.
