Question and Answers

Q:

kenmore elite dryer won't heat up 11062066102

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your dryer is not heating.

If the dryer is not heating you could be experiencing an issue with the thermal fuse (3392519), operating thermostat (3387134), high limit thermostat or the thermal cut-off (kit 279769). If you have an ohms/volt meter you can test these parts for the proper continuity. To test the parts, disconnect both wires from the components and test them at room temperature. The ohms reading for these components should be zero ohms. If the high limit thermostat is faulty, then replace the thermal cut-off as well and vice versa. They two components work together and come as a kit. If they component listed above test good, then the issue may be with the heating element (3387747) and I recommend testing it as well. You'll want to get a reading of 7.8 - 11.8 ohms for it to test good.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I would have to assume you are trying to remove the blower wheel in the wrong direction.

To remove the blower wheel you must turn it clockwise (CW). See image below for the directions for removing the blower wheel.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

A:

Frank: If the molded hex nut is already stripped you will likely have to use a pair of vice grips and don't forget to turn the blower wheel CLOCKWISE (CW) clockwise and NOT COUNTER CLOCKWISE to remove it.
