Q:

How do I replace the electronic control board on a Kenmore Elite model 110.62052100 dryer?

A:

The instructions to raise the console to replace the control board are in the image below. Remember to unplug the dryer first.

Your particular dryer has two end caps that must be removed to access the two screws holding the console.

I hope this information helps you complete this project but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.

Fred I have a question related to this - when replacing the touchpad/control panel I noticed there was some hot glue on the back of it up against the bracket that holds the control board. I folded the end clips to hold the bracket on/up and reused the glue on the new control panel but the bracket didn't stick completely on the bottom. Is this glue necessary to prevent premature failure of the touchpad/control panel?

Q:

Why is the “check lint screen” light always on for my Kenmore dryer?

A:

The “check lint screen” only turns off when you open the dryer door or press start. If the “check lint screen” light does not go off at these times, I would recommend replacing the touch pad control. Please see the attached image.

If cancel doesn't clear it, but everything else works (not a bad idea to be sure you are clear of lint all the way to where the dryer exhaust exits the house), keep in mind the touchpad/control panel is $180+ from Whirlpool/Kenmore in 2014. Just replaced mine today for much worse problems... You could run the diagnostic test mode by pressing "More Time..Less Time..More Time..Less Time" all within five seconds. It should light up all the LEDs. Press each button to see that you get the corresponding LED off condition (Start button will start dryer and Cancel will take you out of diagnostic test mode). Open the dryer door to see if you get a beep. Run your finger across the moisture sensor inside the dryer next to where the dryer lint screen goes in to see if you get a beep. If all this checks out okay, and you can live with the one LED on, not worth it in my mind. Eventually more on the touch pad may go out - it did for me.
