Question and Answers

Q:

How do I remove the panel and check the thermal fuse?

A:

Your symptom indicates an open thermal fuse. I added images below. The thermal fuse (key#59) is located on the blower housing (key#44). The thermal fuse will need to be tested with an ohm meter for continuity.

To access the thermal fuse will require removing the lower front access panel. You will need a putty knife to slip in between the top of the access panel and below the front panel. Push the clips down while pulling at the upper corners. I added 3 images, one showing the wiring diagram and one showing the parts diagram. The thermal fuse (key#59) is likely open since you hear the relay click when start was pushed. There is a broken belt switch that can also break the voltage to the motor and prevent it from starting. If the drum belt breaks, the idler pulley will be pulled by the tension spring and strike the belt switch and cause it to open contact.

NOTE: Be sure to disconnect the power to the dryer before removing the access panel.
