Thank you for your question.

The F35 indicates a water level pressure sensor failure. The SUD is normally displayed when there is excessive detergent suds in the tub. Make sure you are only using the recommended amount of HE detergent. Then run the washer without clothes on a drain and spin cycle. If the tub is empty and you do not see any suds please continue with the following trouble shooting tips. A loose wire harness connection could be causing this problem if there is no water or suds in the tub. I recommend unplugging the washer and removing the top panel. Screws at the very back of the top panel secure it to the washer frame. Remove the screws and then pull the top panel slightly back and then up and off of the washer. The analog water level pressure sensor is shown in the first image below. The second image shows a clear picture of this component. Check the wire harness connection on this sensor. If you find a loose connection, secure the wire harness properly on the component then reassemble and test the washer. If you continue to get the F35 code, then the pressure switch will need to be replaced.

You can order a new analog water level pressure sensor from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If you need more help with this problem, reply with additional details and the full model number of your Kenmore Elite HE washer.

Q:

My washer does not fill with water. I think I checked that the Water Inlet Valve, the Water Level Switch and the Drain Pump are working 110.47787800

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Washer, Model: 110.47787800. From reviewing the details on your model, by what you have stated I suspect the problem is a stuck water level switch. If the water level switch is stuck, it tells the timer the washer is full of water and will agitate. To verify the problem I recommend unplugging the washer and accessing the water level switch. Once you have access to the water level switch remove the hose and blow into it. The hose should be clear. If the hose is fine, reconnect it to the switch and unplug the wires to the water level switch. Once the wires are disconnected, plug the washer in and start the washer in a cycle. If the washer does not do anything, I recommend replacing the water level switch. If the washer continues to agitate, I would suspect a timer problem.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the washer to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.

Thank you for your reply. My problem is not that the washer agitates while empty of water but that the washer will not fill with water. Nethertheless I went ahead and blew in the hose (how can I tell if it's clear?) and started the machine in a cycle. The washer did not do anything. The signal beeps repeatedly when I press start and the door locked light is on (but I can actually still open and close the door). Could it be thqt the Water Inlet Valve is broken?: each of the 3 "solenoids" on the valve has 2 prongs. The resistance I measured between the 2 prongs in each case is 0. I think this means there is no "continuity" (it should read 100 to 1000 ohms, I think) and that the valve is broken?
