Error codes are meant to help identify problems but I do understand they can leave the homeowner in the dark. I see Julio provided an excellent link with good information.

The F30 error does indicate the dispenser motor cannot be driven to its proper position. The diagnosis for this error is normally done by a technician. If you feel comfortable performing these checks, they are listed below. If you prefer to have a technician make these checks, you can schedule a Sears technician here ; Sears Home Services .

First, verify the washer is level. Verify the dispenser drawer is not clogged with detergent. If the is a buildup, remove and clean detergent drawer. Verify water is entering washer at correct volume level and the inlet screens are not clogged.

Disconnect power to the washer

Remove the top panel to access the dispenser linkage. See image below for further information on all steps below.

  • Visually check mechanical linkage from the dispenser motor to the top of the dispenser. Any broken or disconnected linkage will cause this error.

  • Check wiring harness connections to the dispenser motor and the Central Control Unit (CCU). Confirm connections securely seated and no breaks to wiring.

  • Check the dispenser motor for powered rotations. ( This can be done with the washer plugged in, but do not touch while viewing function). Use any cycle to verify operation.

If everything visually checks, you can run a diagnostic cycle to verify error and pinpoint probable failure.

Q:

What does 5d mean on my Kenmore washer model W10071750?

A:

The 5d or Sd indicates a suds lock or drain problem in the washer. If the washer had excessive suds it will not be able to drain the water initially. If you let the suds dissipate after a few hours, you can sometimes clear the fault code and drain the washer. There is a way to manually unlock the washer. Unplug the washer and remove the bottom service panel as shown in the image below. Carefully reach up and pull the tab on the bottom of the door latch assembly to release the door lock.

The following link of a previous answer provides additional information regarding your suds or drain problem in this type of washer: Why am I getting error codes SD and F21 on my Kenmore HE2+ washer?

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional information and the full model number of your washer (the number you submitted was the part number of your owner's manual). The number of the owner's manual that you submitted is used for HE2+ washers with models 110.47512601, 110.47532601 and 110.47542601. I assumed that you had one of those 3 models. If you are able to get the door unlocked, you can check for this type of model number.
