Q:

Front load washer making knocking noise 110.45972404

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your washer. Upon researching model110.45972404; If these noises are heard during the cycle, when possible, stop the unit and search for and remove any foreign objects. It is possible for some objects to get between the washer tub and basket and may not be removable and may require a professional. There could be a chance that the washer still has the shipping bolts on the back of the washer. On most front load washer there is usually 3 or 4 bolts attached on the rear of the machine. You can remove the bolts with a wrench. If washer is on a pedestal there may be a possibility it is not installed properly.

Not leveled

Too many clothes, or too little in the machine

Suspension springs may be going bad.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you the tangling problem. A few things have to be followed to prevent tangling. The washer gives a rough guide saying what a load is but it does not count for the size or weight of the clothes. The proper way to load the washer is to fill the washer with like items. When loading the washer you can fill it with loosely packed clothes and the door should be easy to close. If you have to force the door closed the load will tangle. When packed the clothes against the door are held stationary while the basket turns. This results in tightly twisted clothes. The clothes should tumble when the basket is washing. Next rule is cycle selection. If you are selecting a longer washer cycle for light items they will likely tangle up. Make sure to use the proper cycle for the load being washed. The last rule is to tie draw stings before washing because loose drawstrings can tangle up in other clothes.

I have posted am image below that has the manufactures remedy for tangled clothes.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

The problem is not load size related because it occurs even when washing a single garment. The drawstring gets caught on the bottom of the agitator fin and then just starts twisting and twisting.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your washer. The F6 error code indicates a problem with the motor tachometer. This type of testing will require accessing the motor or control and using a meter to check the tachometer. If you decide to perform the diagnosis and have a meter, please get back with us on this.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services
