Hello Lyle,

I would like to answer your question for you. I have included a diagram of your washer with the circuits in question highlighted on it. There are two switches, one for the door lock sense and one that allows the line voltage for other parts of the washer to run through it if the door is locked shut. I do not know the particulars of the tests that were made prior, but it is highly likely that the door lock is the cause of the issue.

Please let me know if you would like any further assistance.

If you are certain that you have power to that main machine control board but you do not hear the click of that relay when the board receives power then that control board is probably bad.

I posted the troubleshooting for that problem and a wiring diagram for the washer in the image below. You did not indicate how you verified that the control board is getting power. If necessary, you can use that wiring diagram shown below to verify that the new control board is getting voltage. NOTE: You should only check that live voltage if you are completely confident in your technical ability to measure it using a volt/ohm meter. Wear electrical safety gloves and safety goggles when conducting that live voltage check. Unplug the washer as soon as live testing is completed .

If that control board is certainly getting 120 volts AC but you do not hear the click of that relay on the control board then you will probably need to replace that control board again. Once you have a good main machine control board in place, then you may also need to replace that user interface control board since the ribbon wire is damaged. That wire harness is not available as a separate component. Here is a direct link for that part: User Interface Control for Kenmore Elite HE3t Washer Model 110.42926203 . Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

There is a chance that a short in one of the components could prevent the user interface from powering up. You can check the continuity through the circuits connected to that main machine control board using the wiring diagram shown below.

I hope that these tips help. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Lyle, The image for the wiring diagram was not posted in the reply. Can you please repost the wiring diagram? We did test the volts from the outlet to the control board with a volt meter. It is getting voltage but no clicks. We got another refurbished board and the same problem. I am currently out of town but my husband is home and is the one who would use the diagram anyway. Can you please repost so we can test further before we order a new and not refurbished control unit? Thanks for your help! Also, when we called sears parts direct last week before your reply and they said the ribbon was not available and it was not part of the one you linked above. I trust that you know for sure, but can you please verify that part has the ribbon attached?

Okay. I found a picture of the reverse side of that user interface control board. It is posted below. It shows that the ribbon cable is connected to the backside of that component. This should verify the information that I provided above that the ribbon cable is not available separately and it is a part of that user interface control board. I hope that this helps. If you need more assistance, let us know.

Thanks Lyle. We still don't hear clicks when we plug it in....is there anything else that can be wrong that we would not hear clicks? If not we are going to send these refurbished ecu's back to searspartsdirect and ask them to overnight us a brand new one. If we still don't hear clicks.....we are just going to buy a new washer. Any other advice u could provide would be great. He has power going to the ecu for sure. It just bothers me there is no clicking and this is the second panel we got.

Hello Cyndi. You should definitely hear that click of the relay shortly after power is applied to the control board. That information is straight from the manufacturer regarding that control board. If you are getting power to the control board and do not hear that relay click, then the normal procedure is to replace the control board. There are other reasons why the console won't power up if you do hear that click. An electrical short in one of the circuits can drag down the DC power that is normally supplied to the user interface control board. That washer has a motor control board next to the drive motor. You could have a failure in that motor control board and/or the user interface control board even if you replace that main machine control board and hear the click of that relay. If you get a new main machine control board and everything works after installing it then you should be okay. If you need more help, let us know.
