A:

Thank You for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com

Based on the information you have provided, I believe your issue is with the timer. The timer is the part of the machine that communicates with the motor. It tells the motor how long/fast the washer should run. The part number for the timer is 3952990.

I meant to say the agitator speed doesn't change between the regular mode and the delicate mode. I think the agitator speed is running too fast in the delicate mode. Do you still think it's the timer ?

Q:

transmition? 11029852991 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Thank you for choosing sears I would be happy to help you with your washer. Upon researching model 11029852991;  based on the description provided it sounds like you may need to replace the transmission.  In a direct-drive top-load washer, the transmission drives the agitator and the spin basket. The washer transmission has internal gears that create the agitation motion. For the spinning motion of the spin basket, it shifts the drive shaft and spins the drive tube. If the transmission in a direct-drive washer locks up or it doesn't work properly in the agitation or spin mode it typically makes a grinding noise. I have posted a link below of the transmission key# 9.

I trust that this information will help you, thank you have a great day.
