Q:

How do I determine the manufacturing date of this machine from the M#? 11029842990 Kenmore Washer

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Based upon our records of model 11029842990, we show the manufacture date of 1998. The model number would not have an indication of the manufacture date. The serial number would, but usually it's not clear to consumers by looking at it, it's usually encrypted within a certain digit of the serial number.

Let us know if we can be of any further assistance and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

There are some metal parts inside that washer tub that could be corroding due to exposure to the well water. You can pull the components out of that tub using the procedure shown in this repair video: Washing Machine Drive Tub Seal Replacement . You can also check for residue inside the tub or on the bottom of the spin basket. If you need to replace some parts, you can order them from this page: Kenmore Washer 110.92273100 Parts . Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing and replacing internal components.

A problem with the well water supply could be causing this problem to occur according to your details. I recommend that you have the well water tested. You can visit Kenmore Water.com to view solutions for well water problems.

If you need more help, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Hello Mel260. Here are some troubleshooting tips for that problem: Make sure that the cold water faucet is fully open (you probably already checked that but it is worth mentioning as a basic troubleshooting step). Shut off the cold water faucet and remove the cold water fill hose that is connected to the back of the washer. Place the end of the cold water hose in a bucket and briefly turn on the cold water supply faucet to check for proper water pressure and flow from the end of that fill hose. Note: If you are using FillSafe fill hoses like the one shown in the first image below then the washer will normally not fill properly. I recommend using standard fill hoses. If you find no problems with the water supply, then you can check the inlet water screen on the cold water inlet valve for debris or deposits. If that screen is clogged, then I recommend that you replace that water fill valve assembly. You may also need to order that water valve if it is not opening to allow cold water to flow into the washer during the fill process. Note: There is a chance that problem with the wiring or the timer could also prevent the washer from filling. You can view and order parts for your washer on this page: Washer Repair Parts . Be sure that you UNPLUG the washer and shut off the water supply before accessing internal components. The second image below shows how to release the cabinet on the type of washer shown above so that you can access the water valve assembly. If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

e-analysis: On my Freezer 2539287413, In my Timer 216517400, the compressor-timer terminal(1-4), on the 'points' type terminal leaf's showed burnt/globule, and high R.. due to start-up arcing after defrost cycle .. and may have stuck .. and may-be this is a current surging problem on start-up ... Have noticed the current rating difference of 15A,1/2hp for the Timer 297318010 china; changed to 10A,1/3hp for the 216744400 mexico, with the same Mfgr symbol/logo on them ???, that Kenmore recommends .... This would seem to be related to my problem, was their a fix and/or a cost reduction at the same time ??? Which part are you shipping ?? What are your shipping charges ??
