Question and Answers

Q:

water doesnt stop coming in. what part need to be replaced 11028872890 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when the water will not stop filling in your Washer. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information to assist you. There are two parts that could cause your unit to overflow. One is the water level switch and the other is the valve itself. You can test both parts by using an OHMs meter.

Did the water stop filling when the machine was turned off?  If the water continued to fill even with the washer turned off or even unplugged then the Water Inlet Valve has failed.

If the water stops filling with the timer turned off I suspect the water level pressure switch has failed.

Let me know if this helps.

Q:

Not spinning, please assist with specific parts it need to order and specific tools I need to maybe determine 11028872890 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your washer is not working properly. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information that will assist you in finding the cause of your washer not to spin.

Another part that could cause your washer not to spin is the motor coupler. I would recommend checking the motor coupler to see if it is still in good shape. If it is not then you will need to replace it.

If the motor will start up and run after the washer fills with water and the agitator is not moving, I would have to suspect a gear case failure if the motor coupler is not broken. Also, when the washer is in the spin cycle, the clutch drum should be spinning. If the clutch drum is not spinning and the washer will not agitate, I would have to suspect a faulty gear case. The symptoms you have point towards a broken motor coupler so make sure the motor coupler is not broken. The motor coupler must rotate the input shaft of the gear case or it will not agitate or spin even-though the motor is running.

Let me know if this helps.
