Kenmore Top Load Washer #110.27112600: This washer stops filling with water when it begins the rinse cycle. Only lets in a 1/4 of inch of water. This washer

Having proper water flow in your washer is very important so that your clothes will be submerged in water and washed properly. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link that will provide you with some tips about what may be causing your problem. I hope my link is useful.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting more water in the rinse cycle.

On the commercial model the rinse is a reduced water level by half to meet energy requirements. However you should have more than a 1/4 inch of water, it should be about half a tub.

If you level is low as you say it indicates that the water lever control for the rinse has failed and will have to be replaced.

The part number for the rinse water level control is: W10339335 and you can purchase it from: Sears Parts Direct .

After you receive the water level control, you will need to open the control panel to gain access to the components and replace the rinse water level control. (It does not have a control knob on it).

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Our condo has the same Kenmore model and the tub only filled about 1/2 full on the rinse cycle. I got the same song and dance about energy savings being the reason but that didn't cure the problem of having clothes come out of the washer filled with soap (yes, I used HE detergent very sparingly). My temporary "fix" was to add 5 gallons of additional water so the clothes would rinse properly until the necessary adjustment was made, now it works fine. I've done analysis on all sorts of appliances for energy efficiency and have never heard of the "theory" that less water is more energy efficient especially when the washing machine is struggling to agitate the clothes. There is a big difference between resource efficiency and energy efficiency. For a proper rinse there simply has to be enough water to flush the detergent from the clothes. This washer is why I installed my own front loading HE machine that uses less than 10 gallons of water per load.

Capacity 11027112600 Kenmore Washer

Thank you for choosing and being a valued member. I can certainly assist you.

I have found that this unit is 27"cubic feet. You would have to calculate the capacity of the model. We do not have that information on file.

Calculate Washer Tub capacity

This is a geometric method to calculate tub capacity based on the cylinder volume formula. Unfortunately, the value could be as much as 25% off from the manufacturer stated capacity.

Why? Because the tub is not exactly a cylinder. The edge where bottom connected to the wall is not at 90 degree angle but smooth and rounded. The water line is not clearly marked and the bottom is not always flat. Finally, an agitator also takes capacity away from the tub.

This method can be used as a crude estimate but we do not recommend using it for comparisson when shopping for a new washer.

Determine your washer tub capacity by taking two simple measurements:

Top Loading Washer Tub Capacity Measurements

1. Use the ruler to measure the depth of the tub (indicated by the red line on the diagram)

2. Now find the distance accross the tub, the diameter (the green line on the diagram). Note that some tubs are narrow on top. In this case make the measurements INSIDE the tub.

Tub Depth: in.   Tub Diameter: in.
