Kenmore Elite motor stopped working, just a humming noise.

How do I gain access to the control panel on a Kenmore washer, model # 110.26944502?

I added an image below with the instructions on how to place the console in the service position, remove the lid switch and how to remove the cabinet for future reference if needed. NOTE: The control panel will look different than yours in the image below but the instructions will be the same. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before placing the console in the service position.
