Q:

washer makes loud thumping sound only while spinning 11026852504 Kenmore Residential washer

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your washer is making noises.

I recommend checking the suspension springs. When the springs are worn it will cause the tub to hit the side of the cabinet.

You can also visit searpartsdirect.com for parts, diagrams, and repair information.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

No hot water on Hot/Cold setting 11026852504 Kenmore Residential washer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when having trouble with the washer.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore model number 110.26852504.

I would say you are having a bad water valve from the back of  your machine.   I would look at that first before the water temperature switch.

The water valve in the washing machine controls the flow of water.  The valve hlps control not just the amount of watter allowed in your machine but also the amount of hot or cold water.  If yourvavle goes bad your washer will either have too much or not enough water.  Have too much cold or hot water.

How to check temperature switch:

1.  Unplug the power cord first please and take the hoses off the back panel.

2.  Remove the bolts holding together the panel to the rear of the cabinet.  Pull off the panel and set it aside.  Locate the temperature switch.

3.  Pull off the wires attached to the switch

4.  Set a multimeter to test it for continuity.

5.  Hold the test rods of the meter against the two contacts on the temperature switch.   Figure at room temperature, a switch should give a reading of zero on the meter.

6.  Reattach the two wires to the switch terminals and test each remaing switch the same way.   Good luck.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Q:

My washer won't spin-unless helped-even with light loads

A:

Thank you for your question.  I am sorry you are having a problem with your Kenmore 110.26852504 Top Load Washer.  As I understand the problem the  washer will spin with an empty or light load but will not spin with a heavier load.  If the washer will spin with an empty basket but will not spin with a load then the problem is likely with the clutch and basket drive.  I suggest you replace both to solve this problem.  This is a medium difficulty do-it-yourself that requires the transmission be removed to access the clutch and basket drive.  If this sounds like a do-it-yourself you would be comfortable doing let me know and I will provide images like below showing this repair.  You can reply below with any additional details for further assistance.
