Q:

how to replace the lid switch/lock assembly on a top-load washer 11026732500 Kenmore Washer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your washer. Upon researching model 11026732500;

1.      Unplug the washer power cord from the wall outlet. (remove the power from the washer)

2.      Access the back panel of the washer and locate the 2 screws on each edge of the control panel. Using a screw driver loosen the 2 screws, do not remove completely. Unscrew the screws unit the control panel is no longer secured

3.      With the screws loose lift up the panel and roll it back against the wall. .(use a cloth between panel and wall  to prevent damage to wall)

4.      Remove/disconnect the wiring harness located were the lid switch is at by slightly lifting the tab and pulling it out. Then remove the bolt securing the lid switch.

5.      Lift up the lid to clear the switch, and then remove the lid switch.

6.      To replace just reverse the process with the new lid switch.
I have posted a link below of the lid switch.
