Q:

Why does my washer smell like burnt rubber? 11026432500 Kenmore Washer

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I am sorry to hear that you smell burnt rubber. Generally that smell comes from a worn out motor coupler. That motor coupler may cuase that smell when it is too worn dorn from the gearcase and motor. The part number is 285753A. You can give us a call at 1800-366-7278 or click here to order that coupler. I hope this helps you. Have a great day.

A:

From the location you give I believe the leak is from the 3363394 drain pump.

You can access and change the pump without to much difficulty. On a scale of 1 to 10 (most difficult) Id put this repair at 4 or 5.

The image below will give you an idea of how to remove the washer cabinet to access and change the pump. Remember to unplug the washer first.

The motor should be okay. When the old pump is removed you can check the motor shaft for any sharp spots that might cause the pump seal to fail.

The pump is available from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

I hope this information helps you to resolve the problem. You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.
