Question and Answers

Where are the inlet valve screens on my Kenmore washer and how do I clean them?

The inlet valve screens are inside the hose connections on the back of the washer (see image below). These screens sometimes collect debris and can become clogged. The can be removed with needle nose pliers. If you remove them and clean them, be sure to rinse the area inside the hose connections thoroughly with water to prevent debris from entering the inlet valves when the screen is replaced. These screens will push back into the openings after being cleaned.
