Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the washer will not agitate or spin but will drain, then I suspect the motor coupler is broken. The motor coupler is located between the back of the motor and the gear case.

I added a link to answer from a previous question with the procedure for accessing the motor coupler

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.

I think the person is asking why once it goes to spin cycle it spins slow or not at all like a belt is worn out, but there isn't a belt on this mdel. mine is doing the same thing on spin cycle it either spins very slow or not at all depending on the size of the load. if I turn it by hand, I can get it to spin, but over the last several weeks its worse and worse. Does the drive clutch and brake part need to be replaced? my washer works 100% other than once to the spin cycle I hear the motor running and sounds normal, its just not moving like perhaps the clutch is worn out?? my unit is almost 12 years old..

the repair video here is very detailed. however the price of the part is way too high. you can find that part number much cheaper elsewhere. but it sure looks like a job replacing the clutch.. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-basket-drive-and-285792-ap3094539.html

Q:

Why Drum spins slow or not at all in spin cycle. 11024642300 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your washer. I assume that the washer is agitating okay. You did not indicate whether the washer will restart immediately after you encounter this problem. There is a chance that you have an intermittent wiring failure or a problem with the motor overheating. If the washer motor will not restart for a while after it stops (15 minutes to 1/2 hour), then the motor is likely overheating. Washing extremely large loads could cause this problem. Reduce the size of your laundry loads if this describes your situation. You could also have a problem with drive components that cause excessive friction and cause the motor overload. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help. Thank you for using Manage My Life.com.

My washer is doing the same thing. I think the orginal poster is talking about when it goes to spin cycle its not spinning or spinning slow, then the clothes are still very wet. On mine if I help it spin I can get it to spin. it acts like the belt is worn out that spins the drum but there is no belt on this model. Does the drive clutch and brake part need to be replaced??

Q:

Kenmore Washer Won't Spin 11024642300 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore washer.

From the information you have provided above, after researching model number 110.24642300. You’re definitely on the right track for fixing this issue. However, your machine doesn’t have a belt. There is a motor coupler that connects the motor to gear case allowing the unit to spin. So in a way it’s like a belt just looks different. The motor coupler is part number 285753a. Another part I’d recommend checking/ replacing will be the lid switch. this is another part that will caused the washer not to spin.  If the switch is damaged the washer thinks its open and wont cycle through. The part number for the lid switch is 3949238. These parts will get you on the right path to getting the machine running properly.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

Q:

disassembly 11024642300 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Thank you for choosing sears I would be happy to help you with your washer. Upon researching model 11024642300; To put console into the service position: (See images below)

  • First, disconnect the power cord from the power source.
  • The console (key#26) is placed in the service position by removing two hidden (2) screws, one (1) screw located at the bottom of the left hand end cap (key#7) and one (1) screw located at the bottom of the right hand end cap (key#10).
  • In order to access the two (2) screws hidden under the left hand end cap trim (key#8) and under the right hand end cap trim (key#11)the two (2) end cap trim pieces will need to be removed.
  • To remove the trim (key#8&11), place you finger behind the trim at the very top and bend it up enough to clear the console and then hinge it towards the front and off.
  • Remove the hidden screw under each end cap trim. Slide the console forwards about 1/4 inch and the raise it upwards and hinge it over the rear panel.

Now you will have access to the timer you can remove timer (secured by screws) and disconnect wire harness from timer and install new timer. To re assemble unit just reverse the steps.

I trust this information will help you, have a great day.

Q:

Fabric softener dispenser 11024642300 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kenmore washer model 11024642300. I am so sorry the fabric softener dispenser is not holding the liquid softener. I will be happy to help you with this.

It sounds like the dispenser may be installed improperly or it could be broken. You will need to remove the dispenser to check it for damage. It is held in place by a couple of locking tabs. I suspect that is what is keeping you from removing the part. I have included the link below for you to view the owner’s manual online.

The instructions on releasing the locking tabs are on page 5 of the manual. If the part is damaged, you will need to replace it. I have included the link below to order the part, in case you need to do that.

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
