Q:

Kenmore direct drive Type 111 Washer Mod11024442300 Will not spin Type 111 mod 11024442300

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore washer.

From the information you have provided above, I can understand the frustration of having to drive so far and end up not needing the part. After researching model number 110.24442300. It seems to me like the issue may be with the motor coupler. Since you have a direct drive, there is a little piece that connects the motor to the gear case allowing the unit to spin and agitate. The part number for the coupler is 285753A. This is a common part to replace when having this issue. Another part that may cause the issue is the washer’s lid switch.  a lid switch is what sends the signal to the unit to spin and agitate as well. If this is damaged the washer will not go into the spin cycle. The part number for the lid switch is 3949238.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

A:

On this particular model if the washer will fill and agitate then the lid switch is okay. On this model if the lid switch is bad the washer will not agitate or spin. If the washer will not drain or spin but will fill and agitate then I suspect the problem is a bad pump or bad timer. The washer motor runs one direction to wash and one direction to drain and spin. The pump may have a sock jamming it and I'd suggest you check this first. You will need to remove the cabinet to access the drain pump. The image below will help you with this. Remember to unplug the washer first. Check the pump hose for a lost sock and let me know how things go and will figure out the next step.
