Question and Answers

Q:

basket wil not spin 11024294300 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the washer not spinning.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore Washer model number 110.24294300.

Before you look at the clutch, look between the motor and the transmission.   There is a coupling that spins the tub and when it goes bad or starts to go bad there will be a grinding noise.   IT is two plastic pieces on the outside with a rubber piece in the middle which spins  your tub.   Very easy to fix.    Usually the only reason these go bad is overloading the washer or not having a good balance when you wash.

Coupler for model 110.24294300.

If it isn't the coupler then you need to look at the clutch but I know from my experience and others this coupler is the place to start.

Q:

water leakage 11024294300 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Thank you for our question. Leaks can cause damage and create safety issues. I will be happy to help. If you have checked the hose connections at the faucets and to the washer connections at the inlet valve, then I recommend removing the cabinet to help locate the cause.  Disconnect power to the washer. See images below. With the cabinet removed, reconnect power, start a cycle and observe when filling. Do not touch parts inside the washer while the cabinet is off. Inspect hose from inlet valve to vacuum break. Look for cracks or other leak points. Check to see if water is being directed over the tub ring. If it is, there is a redesigned tub ring that may correct this fault.  Check to see if the washer appears level and does not lean. Once you have the leak point identified, disconnect power before further hands on inspection or repair.  Parts, if needed, can be ordered at Sears Parts Direct. If further help is needed, please reply.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.
