Q:

how to fix Kenmore washer elite water draining problem

A:

I can appreciate your wanting to resolve this problem of your washer not draining.  Is there any error code that your washer is displaying?  I did find a link that will give a general and thorough overview on the different possibilities that would cause your washer not to drain. Click here to view the link.  Though this link discusses a different model number,
the mechanics are likely going to be very similar.Keep in mind that an expert will be
responding within the next two business days if not sooner and will likely offer you more information and
instruction.  I hope this will help you and have a nice week end.

Thank you for your question. Drain problems are never welcome. You did not mention if the washer will agitate and spin.  Often if it will agitate but not spin or drain, it is the lid switch.  It may also be the pump. Try putting the washer in a drain and spin cycle. The drain pump should come on. If the pump runs but does not drain the water you have to check for clogs in the pump and hose to the pump and from the pump to the drain hose. If the pump does not run, checks should be made to the pump motor.  The diagrams at Sears Parts Direct can help to locate the parts to check and order parts if needed. The image below will help access all the parts with instructions to replace the lid switch if necessary. I would also check the timer wiring when the console is open.  Make sure no wiring or contacts are loose, or fused. If further help is needed, please reply.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.
