Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

You didn't indicate what the symptom is or any details. In order to test the motor and motor control board will require a volt/ohm meter and it will require making voltage checks. If you do not have experience in making voltage checks and you do not feel safe and confident in doing so; I highly recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer.

I added some troubleshooting images below that should help you diagnose your washer if you feel confident in repairing your washer.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

What does the error "LD" indicate?

A:

You most likely do not need to replace the drain hose.

The LD fault code indicates that the washer took longer than 5 minutes to pump out the water and reset the water level pressure switch. You should be able to press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

Check you drain hose for kinks or clogs. You could have a clog or failure in the drain pump that is causing this problem.

You can use a diagnostic test to start the drain pump. To start this diagnostic test, press the following keys in this order: SET DELAY TIME, END OF CYCLE SIGNAL, SET DELAY TIME, END OF CYCLE SIGNAL. The display should show "dt" after this key dance. Press the JEANS/COLORS key to start a 60 rpm spin and drain test that will terminate after 40 seconds. Listen for the drain pump. It should be running during this test. Also listen for unusual noises from the pump that could indicate that it is clogged. You may be able to drain the water from the washer using this diagnostic cycle depending on the severity of the clog or failure. If not, you may need to manually remove the water. If you are able to safely access and clear a clog in the drain pump or drain line, you may be able to repair this problem yourself. Otherwise, you may need to call a service technician to diagnose and repair this failure.
