Thanks for trying. But my model is different. It has a metal frame bolted around the drive pulley.

The part is called a "Plate" part #8055091. When I got plate loose it was attached to the drive pulley and shaft part #8055094. The plate, drive pulley and shaft all came out as 1 piece. The drive belt could now be removed. Now my problem is getting the shaft back in all the way. I looks like the alignment in the hole of the shaft is off, I hope I didn't break something. How do I get the shaft back in all the way?

Thank you for the reply, Natasha. I'm not home so I'm not looking at the washer right now, but I don't think these diagrams are for my model. There is no plastic guard covering the motor. Loosening the two mounting bolts that I can see doesn't allow me to slide the motor to release the belt. I will look closer when I get home.

Q:

KENMORE ELITE Residential Washer 11022082102 doesn't agitate.

A:

I know that it can be very difficult to have issues with your washer. This washer is supposed to be smart enough to tell us what the problem is. You don't mention any error codes when the washer is not agitating. If there are no error codes displayed but the washer is not agitating but the motor seems to run the first thing you should do is push down on the wash dome and see if the washer starts to agitate. Sometimes the leveler may float up off the drive shaft and not turn even though the motor is turning the shaft. If it does not work, then there is an issue with the brake and drive tube, the pulley, the leveler, or the U-joint. If the motor is not running at all then you should see some short of code to indicate why it is not running. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. There have not been any error codes. I have done what you suggested, pushed down on the wash dome by rocking it side to side. So, can you suggest any step-by-step procedure I can perform to check the issues you mentioned? I would like to try trouble-shooting this before calling Sears.

In order to check the other components, you will need to physically see them. The image below will provide the instructions on how to access these. Check the parts for an damage such as cracks, breaks, if they are warped or worn down, etc. If they are damaged then replace them. Please let me know if there is anything else you need. After looking at the schematic I have a question... do I need to remove the tub in order to look at the leveler and the u-joint? Or can I do this by just removing the front cabinet panel?

Anne, I have proceeded with the removal of the components in the tub up to the leveler assembly. When I look at the plastic splines in the leveler ass'y, it appears to me that the splines on one side have worn away. Is this possible or is it as it should be? When I try to put the leveler ass'y back onto the spin tube splines I cannot get them aligned. I am now quite befuddled and very hesitant to proceed any further since I don't really know what I am looking for. I will probably have to call in a serviceman at this point unless you can provide this amateur with more info. Question: Is the balance ring filled with a liquid other than water?
