Q:

Why won't the "FL" error code clear?

A:

The "FL" error code is an indication of a possible drain pump failure, a blockage or the water level pressure switch did not reset after the water was pumped out.

You did not state if it has pumped the water out or not. If it can't drain water out the "FL" code will not clear.

It is likely to have a blockage in the sump area under the tub or one of the check balls is not seating correctly due to a object or piece of clothing in the sump.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your unique washer.

Thank you for your reply. I tried it again and the error is LF not FL. The washer is in the wash cycle when it gets the error. Sorry about that.

Q:

What is wrong with my Kenmore Elite model 11021066000 washer when the only button that works is the "Stop/Cancel" button?

A:

From the description you give most likely the interface has a stuck or shorted keypad.

Most likely you will have to replace the interface but if you don't mind a little do-it-yourself there are a couple of things to try before replacing an expensive part.

The first image is a diagnostic test for the console and the keypads. Read through the instructions and try to enter the test. If the "Set Delay Time" and "End of Cycle Signal" keypads work you should be able to get into the test. If they don't work then most likely the keypads have failed.

The 2nd image shows how to access the control boards. You tried to unplug the washer and it didn't help but you might try unplugging the interface ribbon connector and see if it helps. Remember to unplug the washer first. The ribbon connects at P11 and P12 on the main control. Remove the ribbons and then try and plug them back in and see if it helps.

If not then replacing the console will most likely correct this problem.

The console is color specific and you can order it from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

I hope this information helps resolve this problem but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
