Definitely having to do repairs on the Washer yourself can be a challenge. Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

To remove the timer knob, push the timer knob in and then turn it counter clockwise until it threads off the timer shaft. The dial will simply pull off once the timer knob has been removed.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

washing maching noise Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct.com.  I want to thank you for being a valued member and will be happy to help with your washer. Upon researching model 11020936991, it could be the transmission gears making a noise. There is the brake and drive in between the transmission and tub that can wear out and make noise. There is a bearing in the center shaft that can be worn.

If you have any further questions please re-post. Thank you for choosing Sears. Have a great day.

Q:

Why is the lid on my Kenmore washer hitting the timer off when I open it?

A:

The left side lid hinge has been revised to correct this problem. Please order the new hinge part number 8055257, spring 384463 & bumper 19119 if needed. The new Hinge went into production @ Serial #CS21. The arm of the hinge triggers the hidden lid switch mounted in the console area. Be sure the spring, hinge & bumper are in position. If you have the new revised hinge & nothing is missing, it may just be bent, you can bend the arm of the hinge back in position with a pair of pliers.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.
