Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the motor is running and it will drain, I suspect a worn clutch or possibly a worn or damage brake release lever. If the lid switch was faulty; the motor would not run in the drain and spin cycles. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord before servicing.

The clutch sits on top of the gear case and the clutch will likely need to be replaced. I assume you know how to remove the cabinet and how to remove the motor. After removing the motor, you will need to remove the agitator and the transmission/gear case mounting bolts in order to drop the gear case/transmission.

I added a couple of images below to reference with information and instructions.

Well I ordered the clutch, watched a couple video's on youtube.com to fix i and followed there instructions easily. Replaced the clutch after removing the agitator and put the machine back together and it still does no spin. Any other suggestions? The machine runs agitates, drains and the motor is running just no spin...Please let me know if you have any other ideas. Thank you!

Shawn: If the clutch drum is spinning then the basket drive/basket should be spinning. When you replaced the clutch how did the brake release lever look. The clutch spins around and must strike the brake release and release the brake. As the clutch is pushing on the brake release it should cause the basket drive to begin spinning the basket. You will need to remove the gear case again and then see if you can release the brake by manually pushing on the brake release lever. As the brake is released you be able to turn the basket drive and basket when doing so. Add additional details for further assistance.

Thank you for your question.

By what you have stated, it most likely is a faulty timer. There is a possibility there is a bad wire connection somewhere. To be sure, I recommend checking the connections before replacing the timer. First, unplug the washer and access the console. I have provided you with the instructions for opening the console. Then check all of the wire connections. Once you have done that, close the console and check the operation. If the washer still fails, I recommend replacing the timer. There is a failed contact internally in the timer. If you need the timer it is part number 3953248 and can be ordered from our parts website Sears Parts Direct . I have also added the instructions for replacing the timer below.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Timers consist of many contacts that open and close when going through the cycle. As the cam in the timer turns, it will close contacts. When a contact fails, the timer has to be replaced because the timer is not serviceable. I am sorry if I have confused you.
