I am sorry to hear about this flooding problem. That type of washer does not have a safeguard against the failure of that water level pressure switch. If the contacts on that switch do not shift from "empty" to "full" then the fill valves will continue to get voltage and will allow the washer to fill indefinitely. If that pressure switch is working normally when it is directly set on one of the dots then it may not need to be replaced. I recommend that you monitor the washer for a few weeks when it is filling to make sure that the pressure switch is working properly. If you continue to have problems with the washer overfilling then you will probably need to replace that pressure switch. You can order that part from this page: Water Level Pressure Switch for Kenmore Washer 110.20712990 . Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components. That link for a previous answer that Alina F. posted in the above response show how to open the console to access that water level pressure switch.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician examine and repair the washer, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Hello. My kenmore washer isn't spinning. The timer seems fine when i switch it to spin modes. The motor engages and I can see underneath that it spins. Its like a gusset or something spinning but wont catch on the transmission.

I don't recommend that you pull that transmission cover off at this time. There is an isolation motor coupler between the motor and the transmission (see second image below). I recommend that you UNPLUG the washer and check that component first. If the washer will not agitate or spin even though the motor is running, then that motor coupler is probably broken. If it is, then you can order a replacement from this page: Motor Coupler Part 285753A . If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Hi, my name is Lydia. My Kenmore model #11020712990 will not go into the rinse/spin cycle. This first happened about three weeks ago and it eventually completed the cycle. I guess It was going out then. Anyway, I've unplug the washer, check the circuit breaker and attempted to get it to spin on all three provided spin cycles but to no avail. Now I have a tub full of water and clothes. My research reflects I may need the washer lid switch part # 3949238. Will this solve the rinse/spin cycle problem? Please advise.
