Question and Answers

Q:

I have a Kenmore washing machine that recently has started twisting up sheets like a rope!! Help!!

A:

Having this happen to appliance that we count on a daily base to clean our clothes to stop working properly can be really frustrating. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, a suggestion I have is to visit Sears Home Services website to set service with a Sears technician. I have attached the link below. Hope this helps!

This can be a difficult problem because a certain amount of twisting will always occur.

Excessive twisting and tangling can be caused by to low of water level. This might be caused by a restricted air dome or the pressure switch. It can also be caused by siphoning. Check how for down the standpipe the drain hose is. To far and the water will siphon out during the cycle.

It can also be caused by a mechanical problem such as agitating and spinning at the same time. This might indicate a brake failure.

If the problem never happen before and you were using this same washer then that might indicate a mechanical failure of some kind.

Submit another question with any additional details and questions and we'll assist you further with this problem.

The problem is NOT with the washer BUT the DRYER.

The dryer may cause the problem but the majority of complaints we hear refer to the washer. I'm glad you found your particular problem.
