Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the washer. Based on the symptoms I suspect the problem is a worn clutch. To confirm the problem I recommend washing a light load. If the washer seems to spin out fine, wash a heavy load. if the heavier load does not spin out as well I recommend replacing the clutch. The clutch can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

I have found a video that will aid in replacing the clutch. Click here to watch the video.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

A:

The previous answers you were linked to cover the causes of major no spin problems but hopefully it is something simpler.

On this washer the lid switch will prevent the washer from spinning or agitating. If the lid switch is bad the motor can not run in agitation or spin.

You don't mention any details about the agitation cycle.

If the washer will agitate then likely the motor is okay.

If the washer will agitate but not spin then one thing to try is to give the spin basket a push and see if the tub turns or feels locked up. With the lid up you will have to push down on the lid switch.

If the washer will spin empty but not with a load then likely you have a bad basket drive/clutch.

If you reply with a few more details for further assistance I may be able to provide further assistance.
