This could be a problem with the agitator or the transmission. I suspect the splines inside the agitator that mesh with the transmission shaft may be worn. You can remove the agitator by popping the cap off and under it you will see a bolt. Use a 7/16” socket and ½” ratchet extension to take it loose. Now you can pull the agitator straight up. Now it can be very tight and hard to pull. When you get it off, check the splines inside the agitator. If they are worn, the complete agitator # 63377 will need to be replaced. It’s available at SearsPartsDirect . If the agitator splines seem ok, then it will indicate a problem with the transmission. A technician will be needed for this repair. I’m listing a site you can access, to have a technician come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If you would like more assistance, additional details will be needed.
