Q:

How to remove both door handles on Kenmore 106.9557622? 1069557622 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 1069557622 and the handle has a trim piece above and under the handle(21 and 23 in the diagram). Those  trim pieces slide away from each other. The screws will be next to come out. (14 in the diagram). To reinstall the handles you will reverse the order of the directions. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Thanks. There is one other problem though. There is #16 part that is at both ends of the handle that has to be removed before you can slide the trim pieces #21 and #23 apart. The screw is under that part #16. How do you remove part #16? It looks like it slides up and down also, before removing the screws. They either slide or pull off by lifting from one side first. Please advise. Thanks

Thanks for responding to my post. The refrigerator is a Sears Kenmore with the model # being 1069557622. I did take the ice maker off of the refrigerator and the only numbers that I see on it are IM #S 106 626633 and LR5010 08-19-96 2 which I think has to do with the manufacture date. Again thank you for your response. By the way just before I took the ice maker out of the refrigerator I noted that the metal coil at the bottom of it was hot to the touch.

I took my ice maker to Lowes and explained that I had just put a water check valve on my refrigerator that connects to my ice maker and they told me that sounds like my check valve is not working. I came home and checked it out and the main water line is working, and my water line to get cold water is working but there is no water coming out of the opening that goes to the ice maker. Even when I put negative pressure on the outlet line, there is still not water coming out. What could be wrong? Thanks for your assistance.

Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the icemaker stops working. When the icemaker starts making a clicking sound and stops working, it indicates a problem with a gear or the motor. In either case, the icemaker # 4317943 will need to be replaced. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your ice bin. Sometimes the ice auger rotates and doesn't line up with the shaft. Try rotating the auger in the ice bin in 1/4 turns until the coupler in the bottom of the ice bin lines up with the shaft. This should allow you to pull out the bin. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
