Q:

Why is the water running for so long in my ice maker?

A:

There should be a water level adjustment screw on the side of your ice maker. The location of this screw is shown in the image below. You may need to unplug the refrigerator and remove the front cover of your ice maker to access this adjustment screw. If you adjust the water fill, you may be able to fix this ice maker problem.

If the ice maker continues to overfill, you may have a failed solenoid valve or a bad ice maker module that is causing the ice maker to overflow. I recommend that you call a service technician to diagnose and repair this type of ice maker problem.
