Q:

ICEMAKERNOTWORKING 1069545510 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you.  I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

Normally when checking out the icemaker there’s only a couple things you can check. First off make sure the power switch for the icemaker is in the on position. Next thing would be to check the water supply line coming into the freezer. Check to see if it has frozen at the tip. The last option, if everything checks out, would be to replace the water valve. The water valve can go out, having one side work and the other not.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. I've already read those links but thanks anyway. I think I'll order the Water Inlet Valve to see if it will fix the problem. Thanks again.

A:

I know that it can be frustrating to have the water dispenser leak. Normally this is caused by the filter needing to be change. The filter should be changed once ever six months depending on how often it is used. These instructions are located in the owner's manual. Be sure to purge the water line afterwards to remove any air and to build pressure in the line. You will remove at least one gallon of water. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread with more detail.
