I am having a similar problem. I powered off the machine to let the ice melt. Went away for the weekend. I drained the water, poured in the cleaner and the machine will not power on. Unplugged the machine, plugged it back in and can hear some kind of motor, compressor or pump run for about 10 seconds, then it shuts off and nothing. When I press the on/off button, nothing lights up.

Q:

Hole in tube? 10689582702 Kenmore Freestanding icemaker

A:

According to the information that I have, that tube that is part 2313851 should have a hole in it. It appears to be a vacuum break in the tube. Water should not be leaking out of that hole. You may have a failure in the fill valve or the water level sensor that is causing water to leak out of that hole.

I know that it can be very difficult to have issues with your ice maker. On this model there is a diagnostics test that you can run which will determine what is causing the problem. It could be an issue with the controls or with another internal part. Just follow the directions on the image below to run the test. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
