You may have a problem with that electronic control board in the control. Unlug the ice maker to completely disconnect electrical power for 5 minutes. If the ice maker is hard wired to a junction box, then you can shut off the house circuit breaker for that ice maker for 5 minutes. This may reset the control board. Restore power and see if the ice maker works normally. If not, then you can use the diagnostic test shown in the image below to check the functions and the components. If you find no problems with any of the components and the control still goes into a clean cycle after making one batch of ice, then you will probably need to replace the electronic control board on that ice maker. You can order that control from this page: Kenmore Ice Maker 106.89482990 . Be sure that you unplug the ice maker before accessing and replacing internal components.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

Thank you for your question. Replacing some parts can sometimes be a little tricky. The information you have received from Alina is very good. The model number listed shows this to be a free standing ice machine and the part number listed, does show to be the correct part. It has the new style tube connection. I'm attaching a picture of how this fitting works. This valve has one connection for the incoming supply line and one connection for the outgoing water tube. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

Gordon, since you have already replaced the water valve, the most likely problem will be with the icemaker itself. This icemaker has some test terminals on the module that may help determine what the problem is. To access the terminals, pull the front cover off of the icemaker. The terminals will be marked (see picture) and using a well insulated jumper, place it between the L - V terminals. Be careful this is a hot (live) check. With the jumper in place, water should flow to the icemaker. If water does flow, the icemaker # 4317943 will need to be replaced. If nothing at all happens, some voltage checks will need to be made. A technician may be needed to make these checks. You can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out. If you would like more assistance, additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
