A:

I check a few refrigerators online and all I checked under "specifications" had exact measurements.

See the following link for an example: New Ref Measurements .

Before you go to the store you can measure the maximum width you have available. From this figure subtract 2 inches for 1 inch clearance on each side.

Q:

Why does this refrigerator smell like gas?

A:

The insulation can put out this type of odor. Check for cracks in the liner. If it appears ok, you will need to clean the inside of the cabinet. It's possible something may not have been sealed good and after awhile, could be causing an odor. Use warm water and a mild detergent to clean the cabinet. You can also use some charcoal or baking soda to draw out some of the odor. There is also a product called Odor Rid # 8171398 that will help this type of problem. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . If you need more assistance, please resubmit your question, with additional details.

Q:

Why is water leaking in the refrigerator section?

A:

Water will leak into the refrigerator when the drain system freezes up. Every time the unit goes into a defrost cycle, water will run down into the refrigerator, instead of down the drain. To clear the drain, remove everything in the freezer so the back panel can be removed. With the panel removed, you will see the evaporator coil and directly under the coil is the drain trough (pan). The trough will probably be full of ice that will need to be removed. With the ice out of the trough, you will be able to see the drain hole which will be plugged with ice. Use hot water to clear the drain hole. Keep working the hot water into the hole and wiping the excess water. This can take quite awhile depending on how deep the ice is. This will need to be done until you get a good water flow down to the bottom drain pan. With the drain system clear, water should stop leaking in the refrigerator. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.

Q:

Why is my ice maker accumulating solid ice on the bottom of the bucket?

A:

What happens a lot of times is water will splash when the ice maker fills causing the ice accumulation. There is a fill tube cover extension to help prevent this. I'm sending you a picture with instructions. You can purchase the part listed from searspartsdirect.com . If it's not splashing but actually overfilling the mold there is a simple check you can make to determine if the problem is with the ice maker or the water valve. To check this you can manually start the ice maker into a cycle by jumping the test terminals on the module between T-H with a well insulated jumper. This will start the ice maker cycle, now watch and just before the end when it starts to fill, time it from start to finish. The fill time should be for 7.5 seconds. If it's for a longer time the ice maker will need to be replaced. If the fill time is correct then the water valve will need to be replaced. I'm sending you a picture of the test points on the module. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
