I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your refrigerator. The information that Anna T provide is very good. It does help show what the issue could be. Since the compressor is hot, this does indicate that it is running. However since the refrigerator in not cooling, this is most likely an issue in the seal system. It could be low on refrigerant, or there could be a blockage in the system. This is not a repair you can do yourself, you will need a technician for this. This is because you have to be certified to handle the refrigerant, and they are the only ones who know how to recharge the system. If you would like to schedule, just click on this link: Sears Home Services . I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem. You have received some very good information from Dezeray. When you notice the frost starting to build, this unit can be manually advanced into a defrost cycle, which may help determine, what is causing this problem. To advance this model, turn the defrost timer knob slowly, until it clicks and the unit stops running. The timer (# 4 in picture) is located in the control housing and the knob will be positioned in a small hole under the housing. When the unit stops running, it will be in the defrost position. Open the freezer door and after a few minutes, if you can hear a sizzling sound, it means the heating element is working. This will indicate the timer # 482493 is not advancing on its own and will need to be replaced. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . If nothing at all happens, some voltage and resistance checks will need to be made. If you have a meter and feel confident that you can safely make these checks, I will be glad to assist you further. I hope this will help you. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
