Question and Answers

Q:

Leaking refrigerator 10674982401 Kenmore Refrigerator, top mount

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the leaking refrigerator. I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

Unfortunately, we do not have enough details to give an accurate analysis of the issue, but I suspect that one of the water lines has punctured and is causing the leak. The filter housing is on the bottom-right side of the unit, and it could be emanating from there. If the leak is inside of the unit, you could have a blocked defrost drain tube, which is causing it to drip down into the refrigerator.

The source of the leak will need to be identified to properly know which part needs to be replaced. Keep in mind that water will travel in the path of least resistance, so it could be coming from somewhere else and ending up on the side.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
