Q:

How can I fix my Kenmore Cold Spot refrigerator that leaks from freezer to refrigerator section?

A:

Core Issue: How can I fix my Kenmore Cold Spot refrigerator that leaks from freezer to refrigerator section?.

Resolution: During the defrost cycle, water can overflow drain tube, causing for the freezer to leak water into the refrigerator section. This may result in ice building up. Usually this problem can be corrected by performing a manual defrost cycle. I am including the instructions for manual defrost below.

Manual Defrost:

  1. Unplug refrigerator or turn off circuit breaker for 24 hours.
  2. Leave both doors open.
  3. Place towels at bottom of refrigerator to absorb excessive water.
  4. Turn power back on, allow refrigerator to stabilize temperature before loading with food.
