Q:

Kenmore Elite Coldspot fridge and freezer warm 10674202402 Kenmore Elite Top mount

A:

Since the compressor vibrates and gets warm, it is apparently getting electrical power. You could have a bad capacitor (part number 2169373) or a failed start device (part 2319794). Replacing those parts may fix your problem. If the compressor runs but you don't see a frost pattern forming on the evaporator, then you could have a refrigerant leak, a clog in the sealed refrigerant system or a failed compressor. A service technician woul need to fix those types of problems because they involve the recovery and recharge of the refrigerant.

Q:

What is causing cold water to leak onto the top shelf? 10674202402 Kenmore Elite Top mount

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore refrigerator.

From the information you have provided above, I can understand the frustration of having your refrigerator malfunction, after researching model number 106.74202402. Water will leak into the refrigerator when the drain system freezes up. Every time the unit goes into a defrost cycle, water will run down into the refrigerator, instead of down the drain. To clear the drain, remove everything in the freezer so the back panel can be removed. First disconnect power to the unit. With the panel removed, you will see the evaporator coil and directly under the coil is the drain trough (pan). The trough will probably be full of ice that will need to be removed. With the ice out of the trough, you will be able to see the drain hole which will be plugged with ice. Use hot water to clear the drain hole. Keep working the hot water into the hole and wiping the excess water. This can take quite awhile depending on how deep the ice is. This will need to be done until you get a good water flow down to the bottom drain pan. With the drain system clear, water should stop leaking in the refrigerator

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

*Safety disclaimer before you try and repair the unit make sure the power supply is disconnected. There may be sharp parts to the unit that can cause injury to you if not careful.
