I'm sorry you are having this problem with your refrigerator. The most likely cause for this problem, will be with the defrost control board. This can be manually placed into a defrost cycle, to help determine, what the problem may be. To place this into a defrost cycle, the following must be done, in the order listed?

  1. Unplug the power cord
  2. Turn the thermostat off (leave it off)
  3. Reconnect the power cord
After a few minutes open the freezer door and if you hear a hissing or sizzling sound, it will indicate the element is on. This indicates the defrost board # 2304093 has failed and will need to be replaced. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further.

Thanks Scott! Where do I locate the theremostat to turn it off? Are you referring to the thermostat knob for the freezer which is located in the refridgerator? If so, it goes from 1 - 7 and can only be turned down to 1 which is the lowest setting. I look forward to your response.

I'm sorry for the confusion. Yes, I am referring to the refrigerator thermostat knob. Now, there are 2 controls in the fridge section of this model. One is the air supply, which will go from 1 to 7 and the other control is the thermostat, which will have the "off" position at the top (see picture). I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, please let me know and I will be glad to assist you.
