Thank you for your question. When replacing the motor, first disconnect the power from the unit. Everything in the freezer will need to be taken out, so the back panel can be removed. I'm attaching some pictures with instructions to access and replace the motor. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Why is my Coldspot refrigerator not cooling properly?

A:

After confirming that the compressor & condenser fan motor is running, I recommend removing the rear panel in the freezer & inspecting the evaporator coils & freezer fan motor. If you see the coils frosted up, I suspect a defrost cycle failure. The defrost cycle consist of 3 main components; defrost heater, timer & limiter. If the freezer fan is not running & the compressor is on, I suspect a bad freezer fan motor. The damper on this model will not cause this problem. Other possibility; failed compressor.
