Question and Answers

Q:

Can this icemaker be repaired by me?

A:

The reason for the leak is water splashes out of the fill tube. There is an extension tube # 2203024 that will fit over the existing tube. I'm sending you some pictures with instructions to make this repair. This fill tube is available at SearsPartsDirect . You will need to remove the icemaker and shelf so the back panel in the freezer can be removed. After the repair is made, you can cycle the icemaker to check for leaks. To cycle the icemaker, pull the front cover off and you will see the module. The module has some test terminals, which are marked (I'm sending you a picture). Use a well insulated jumper and place it between the T-H terminals. Be careful this is a hot (live) check. This will cycle the icemaker and after approximately 10-15 seconds remove the jumper. Toward the end of the cycle it will fill and you can watch for leaks. If you need more assistance, you can resubmit your question with more details.

  3. Add the cubic feet of both the freezer and refrigerator compartment (e.g. total = 19.2 cu. ft)

* NOTE: REMEMBER TO MEASURE IN FEET
