Question and Answers

Q:

My refrigerator stop freezer, what is likely the cause? 10664959400 Kenmore Refrigerator

Q:

How to advance my refrigerator to the defrost mode, so I can test the terminating thermostat?

A:

To advance this Defrost Control Board, you must do the following in the order as listed:

  1. Disconnect power to the unit for at least 30 seconds
  2. Turn the thermostat to the off position
  3. Reconnect power to the unit (leave thermostat off)
In a few minutes you should be able to hear some popping and hissing in the freezer compartment. This will be the ice melting on the heater element. If you do hear this, it indicates the defrost control board # 2304099 is not advancing and will need to be replaced. This check must be done when the freezer is cold or frosted. If you need more assistance, please resubmit your question, with additional details.

Q:

Kenmore fridge: How do I reinstall the U-bar in front of the crisper cover?

A:

I am not sure I understand which part is a U-bar. If it is the trim for the front of the crisper cover it will slide on from one end of the crisper cover.

If this is not the part you mean please go to www.sears.com and select parts to see a parts diagram of your refrigerator. Find the part you are referring to and send another email. Use the item number when describing the part and we will get you the correct instructions.
