I know that it can be very annoying to have issues with the refrigerator. If the freezer section gets too cold (below zero degrees) the drain line can freeze. Sometimes air can migrate up the drain tube and cause it or the drain hole may have a restriction that eventually forces it to freeze up. There are a couple of things that will help reduce the possibility of the drain line freezing.

  1. Install a heat probe # 819043 in the drain hole
  2. Attach a duckbill (grommet) # 849307 on the end of the drain tube.

The heat probe attaches to the defrost element on one end and the other end fits in the drain. Instructions will be included with it. The duckbill fits on the end of the drain tube at the bottom.
