Thanks for the inquiry about your refrigerator, I will be glad to assist you. Adding an ice maker to a unit that did not come equipped with the ice maker is possible on some models.  I would need the complete model number off your refrigerator in order to be able to answer this for you. If you could reply with the complete model number from the unit I will be happy to respond.  Ron H.

Hi Lorenzo, Thanks for the model number. Per the manual this refrigerator came with an ice maker. I would have no idea if the previous owner removed the water valve on back or the wiring harness in the cabnet. If all that is still there then you can just replace the ice maker, if it is not there you will need a install kit. Both avalinle at your local store. Just take you model nimber in with you. Ron H.

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. An ice maker can be installed into your refrigerator. The ice maker kit that goes to your unit is part number 8560. You can order the kit from our Sears Parts Direct web site. This will come with the water valve, icemaker, ice storage bin, installation hardware needed, and some tubing for the water connection. The kit should also come with instructions for installation. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Why won't this new door gasket stick to the refrigerator?

A:

First make sure the door is not sagging. The gasket has to make contact with the metal cabinet. If the door is ok but the magnet is just not sticking to the metal cabinet, then the gasket will need to be replaced again. This would be very unusual. Most of the time, the reason the gasket does not hold the door closed, is because the gasket is still wrinkled and needs to be smoothed out. There are 2 different ways to do this.

  1. You can soak the gasket in some hot water for several minutes which will soften the gasket.
  2. After the gasket is installed, you can use a hair dryer to soften the gasket. Be careful not to get it too hot and melt the gasket.
If you need more assistance, you can resubmit your question with more details.
