Thanks for your question about the Kenmore freezer; Im` so sorry to hear of this problem. I will be glad to assist.

Your freezer was operating fine before the move so there is most likely a connection. When moving a freezer or refrigerator it is preferred to keep them upright. If that is not possible and they are laid on the side the unit should not be plugged back in until it has sat in the upright position for as long as it was laid over.( so one hour on side one hour standing upright before connecting power.) The reason is because internally there is oil to keep the compressor lubricated. The oil will drain from the compressor up into the evaporator and connected tubing causing a problem if not allowed to drain back to compressor. This may be the issue in your case. After the freezer has sat upright you can try starting it again.

The clicking noise you hear is the compressor trying to start. Considering the age of your freezer this could be a locked compressor. Just laying on its side could have caused it to lock up. I suggest you check the wiring to the compressor just to be sure wires were not shaken off. Always disconnect power before servicing any appliance_ I have researched your model and find that many parts are no longer available including start relay and compressor. If you need a manual check the Manage my life web site. I hope this helps determine the problem with your freezer. If you need additional help reply with details. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Thanks Ron H.
