The temperature inside the refrigerator is determined by the airflow into the refrigerator from the freezer. If the freezer is working ok, there is probably a problem with the airflow.

Remove enough food from the freezer so you can see the evaporator cover at the rear of the freezer compartment. If the evaporator cover has frost or ice on it, there might be a problem with the defrost system.

If you would like to try to repair the refrigerator, reply on this thread and advise me if you have a volt/ohm meter and I will be glad to help.

Hey Ann~ It sounds like you need to place a Sears service call. It is important to keep your refrigerator at proper temperature.Sears is great about helping and since you bought your appliance through them,I am sure they would give you proper advice. Here is a little info about correct temperature for your fridge. The United States Food and Drug Administration set the maximum refrigerator temperature at 41 Degrees Fahrenheit. That temperature is the maximum for the actual product being refrigerated. This is often confused for the air temperature. The air temperature may fluctuate but the product temperature must remain at 41 or lower. Here is contact info-you can set up right online: Repair: schedule repair online - Sears Home Services www.searshomeservices.com/repair OR Refrigerator and Freezer Repair Services - SearsHomeServices.com www.searshomeservices.com/refrigerators-freezers/repair I think you can renew your warranty( it is called an EXTENDED WARRANTY) A sears warranty rep. can answer that for you. Good luck and Happy Holidays

My issue is similar but my freezer is also not freezing food completely as well as the refrigerator not being cold enough. I have swapped out the thermostat for a new one and that did nothing. Is it possible that the fan needs to be replaced or is there something else to look at? I do have a volt/ohm meter.
