Q:

Evaporator Fan Moter 10661182101

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more then happy to assist you. Its quite simple to replace the evaporator fan motor. Once the cover is removed with the 4 screws. The evap motor and fan will be right there then its one bolt to remove fan blade. From there you should see 2 screws on the right/left fan shroud. Once that is out of the way you have the motor bracket, That is only held on with a few bolts. Then from there you should unplug the motor and replace it. If replacing the motor I would always recommend replacing the fan blade as well. Q:

auto-defrost not working model# 10661182101 10661182101 Kenmore Top-mount refrigerator

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

I am sorry to hear of the defrost issue you are experiencing on this unit, I know how frustrating a manual defrost is to perform and have to worry about.

On this particular unit, the automatic defrost function is comprised of three separate parts: the defrost timer, thermostat or bi-metal, and the heater. The issue you are experiencing could tie back to any three of these parts.

In order to address which component is at fault, you will have to have and be confident in using a multimeter with a continuity feature to check the items for continuity.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

Once you test the parts individually and find out which is causing the issue, you can click the corresponding blue link below to be directed to the PartsDirect page to view and purchase the applicable part.
