Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the noise. The information you have received is very good. Now, if the noise is occurring when the unit cuts off, the most likely cause will be the compressor. If this could also be a clunking type noise, this is a normal noise that can occur at any time and there is no fix for it. A compressor can make this type of noise at any time. It doesn't mean it's bad or is going bad. This is actually a normal noise. It may never make this noise but usually at some point it will. What's happening is, the mechanism inside the compressor, has gotten out of balance. The compressor will shake, due to the sudden stop in pressure and when it quits the mechanism is hitting the frame now, making the clunking noise. The compressor is mounted on rubber grommets because of this shaking motion. It doesn't mean anything is going bad but it should only do this when the compressor quits. I hope this helps you.
